Coppell Cosmetic Dentist

Do you wish you had a more dazzling smile? At Sandy Lake Dental & Orthodontics, we’re happy to offer custom cosmetic dentistry. Beginning with a special consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and concerns before creating a plan to help you achieve the results you’ve dreamed of.  With our wide range of services, we can provide the comprehensive treatment you’re looking for.

Your treatment plan may include one or more of the following:

Porcelain Veneers

Closeup of flawless smilePorcelain veneers are extremely thin ceramic coverings that are bonded to the front teeth to cover stains, misalignment, spaces, and other common imperfections. They are one of the most comprehensive cosmetic treatments available and can completely transform a smile on their own. A complete veneers treatment normally requires just two to three visits, but it can yield beautiful results that will last for years.

To get porcelain veneers, you’ll first need to schedule a consultation with Sandy Lake Dental & Orthodontics. This will give you the chance to describe what you would like to change about your smile to your doctor. Once that is decided, they’ll remove a tiny portion of your enamel (about 2mm) to create room for the veneers, take an impression of your teeth, and send it to a dental lab. You’ll be fitted with a temporary set of veneers to “test drive” your smile before your final ones are placed. When you return to the office, your doctor will securely bond your veneers to your teeth and your new smile will be ready for the world!

Metal-Free Restorations

Woman receiving dental examWhen we restore your damaged teeth, we don’t want them to simply be functional. We put in the extra effort to make sure they are beautiful as well! We do this by using metal-free, all-porcelain crowns and bridges. These restorations strengthen your teeth just like traditional metal ones, but they have the added benefit of being able to be shaded to match the rest of your smile. You’ll no longer have to worry about unsightly gray restorations sticking out in your mouth whenever you talk, laugh, or eat. Also, because they are metal-free, this means your new tooth won’t experience sensitivity when it is exposed to hot or cold temperatures. Plus, they are completely biocompatible, meaning we can use them to treat patients who suffer from metal allergies without issue.

Teeth Whitening

Closeup of smile compared to tooth color chartDoes your smile look a little dull, yellow, or discolored? If so, your answer isn’t on your toothbrush. While whitening toothpastes do a great job of helping your teeth maintain their current shade, they do very little to break up deeply ground-in stains.

In order to truly make your smile shine, you need to get professional teeth whitening. For this, we can offer you two options. We can provide you a custom-made take home kit so you can whiten your smile on your own schedule, or to save time, we can offer you a complete treatment in our office that only takes an hour. No matter which method you choose, you’ll soon have a smile that will be up to 10 shades whiter!

Cosmetic Dentistry FAQs

A cosmetic dentist in Coppell answering a patient’s questionsEven if you’re considering cosmetic dentistry, you might have some concerns about it. That’s only natural! After all, you’ll want to ensure your cosmetic dentist in Coppell gives you effective treatment. To keep you informed, then, we at Sandy Lake Dentistry listed the answers to some frequently asked questions below. In the event you don’t find the facts you want, though, don’t worry; feel free to reach out to Dr. Horton and the rest of the team!

How Do I Know If I Need Cosmetic Dentistry?

You’d likely benefit from cosmetic dentistry if you don’t like how your teeth look. After all, the field focuses on treating smile flaws.

Dental imperfections it can fix include the following:

  • Stained or Discolored Teeth: Some tooth stains can’t be removed with over-the-counter whiteners, but professional whitening can get the job done.
  • Chipped or Cracked Teeth: Damaged teeth could expose their centers to dangerous bacteria. Thankfully, a dentist could protect them with veneers, crowns, etc.
  • Misshapen or Misaligned Teeth: Besides hiding fractures, porcelain veneers can even cover up dental misalignments!

To confirm if cosmetic work is right for you, book a visit with your dentist. They can recommend procedures that would make the best possible smile changes.

How Long Does Cosmetic Dentistry Last?

Ultimately, your new smile’s lifespan will depend on which treatment(s) you get. Some cosmetic services, you see, naturally last longer than others.

On the one hand, quick and easy procedures have shorter lifespans. Teeth whitening and direct bonding, for instance, offer fast results but only endure a few years at most.

In contrast, more involved treatments tend to last longer. With proper care, those like porcelain veneers have a decades-long lifespan.

Overall, results will stick around longer if you maintain your oral health.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Expensive?

It’s possible to get cosmetic dental work that stays within your budget. For one thing, Sandy Lake Dental’s savings plan offers a 30% discount on veneers and a 10% discount on teeth whitening. Plus, our office works with CareCredit to give patients flexible financing options.

More importantly, cosmetic dentistry always pays off in the long-term. It may seem costly at first, but the investment rewards you with improved self-esteem, confidence, and quality of life. An attractive smile can even lead to better job prospects, with treatment essentially paying for itself!

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Safe?

You might fear that a prettier smile would come at the cost of your oral health. However, you needn’t worry — cosmetic dentistry is perfectly safe. At the very least, Sandy Lake Dental would never perform treatments that harm your teeth or gums.

Of course, not every cosmetic dental service is right for every patient. As such, we’ll examine your mouth beforehand and let you know which procedures may not work for you.

In some cases, a cosmetic procedure could be risky if an underlying health issue isn’t treated first. However, Dr. Horton and others would address such problems before starting treatment.
